Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated along the bustling Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie, Louisiana, New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Company is a vibrant culinary destination that masterfully fuses American classics with authentic seafood delights. This beloved restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere that blends casual comfort with a welcoming Southern charm, making it an ideal spot for both a leisurely lunch and a satisfying dinner.

The menu is a treasure trove of flavorful experiences, showcasing expertly prepared dishes that capture the essence of New Orleans-inspired cuisine. Seafood lovers will find themselves drawn to the jumbo shrimp, famously served hot, fresh, and perfectly fried to golden crispness—a true highlight noted by many patrons. Another standout seafood offering is the Catfish Lafitte: tender fried catfish nestled over fluffy rice and smothered in a luxuriously creamy crawfish sauce that bursts with Cajun flair, creating a comforting yet indulgent plate.

For those craving a twist on Southern staples, the alligator poppers provide a delightful balance of heat and sweetness, amplified by a sweet and spicy dipping sauce that keeps guests coming back for more. The fried green tomatoes have also earned high praise for their perfectly crisp exterior and tangy interior—an undeniably quintessential taste of the South. And no meal here would be complete without sampling one of their handcrafted burgers, which remain a crowd favorite thanks to their juicy, well-seasoned patties and fresh ingredients.

Dishes like the shrimp pasta offer a homestyle charm, while desserts such as the brownie and bread pudding steal the spotlight with their rich, comforting sweetness. The Red Cream Soda Float pairs wonderfully with these meals, offering a nostalgic and refreshing finish.

While the ordering system is straightforward—where guests order and pay at the counter before being served at the table—the quality of service consistently receives kudos for attentiveness and friendliness, even during busy hours. Some diners note a wait during peak times, but the warm hospitality and flavorful food more than make up for it.

Whether you're a local or visiting the Metairie area, New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Company stands out as a culinary gem that masterfully balances robust flavors of the Gulf Coast with hearty American classics. It's a place where every bite tells a story, inviting you to savor the rich culinary heritage of Louisiana in a setting that feels like a welcoming embrace.

Dined in for lunch. The jumbo shrimp were hot and fresh and fried as ordered. The shrimp pasta was pretty good but could have been seasoned better. The alligator poppers with sweet and spicy dipping sauce were great. There was a pretty long wait in line but once seated the table service was good.

First time. Brownie and bread pudding. It tasted great and service was wonderful. You order and pay at the counter. Then the food is brought to you by a server.

Finally visited this place today. Yes, yes, yes! Their fried green tomatoes are the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend the gator poppers. Loved the thin fried catfish. Wow, we were so impressed. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Even had “New Orleans Royal tea” for the first time here. I’d give this place a 10 if I could. Definitely a great spot!

I came down to New Orleans on a business trip from Shreveport, LA. This was our first stop in the city. I was looking for authentic New Orleans style food. This is NOT that. The food was good but not amazing. We arrived an hour before the restaurant closed. The cashier you can tell was ready to go but our server was real attentive and nice! Overall it’s a good spot to visit if you’re looking for a quick meal, I would return. I tried the Wedding Cake daiquiri as well, it was delicious.

First time visit. I knew I wanted either a burger or catfish. I asked the cashier which they preferred, so I went with a double cheeseburger (I shouldn't have done a double!), also had fries with garlic aioli, and raspberry tea. Fantastic! Food arrived quick, friendly service, and they have free soft serve ice creme! Yum!

Came here on a whim headed to the Superdome and was very happy with the entire experience. When we first arrived there wasn’t much of a line but as we were looking over the menu they started getting busy. However they made quick work of getting the line down and both cashiers were knowledgeable of the menu. Kevin A who appeared to be a manager greeted us with a warm smile and pleasant conversation, took our order quickly and asked all of the right questions. We got our appetizers almost as soon as we got to our table. The crawfish queso was INCREDIBLE! I could have eaten it like a soup instead of a dip! My kids loved the mozzarella sticks. Our food came out quickly and together, everything was fresh and warm. My middle child is a picky eater but he LOVED his chicken tenders while me and my other two enjoyed pasta and fried shrimp. The servers who brought the food were quick and joyful to talk to. The food looked and smelled too good for us to stop and take pictures but we will definitely plan to come back in the future.

I've got to say that this is hands down the second best burger I've had in my entire life! (I'm ashamed to admit that the best was actually in Shreveport.) Big, juicy, cooked perfectly! The wait staff was cheery and helpful but a little bit slow. Everything looked clean and fresh!
